Freya Blackwood challenged us to think deeply about her book Garden of Broken Things by not revealing everything about the narrative and characters. During and after reading we had to make inferences and synthesise in order to really comprehend. This made it a memorable story. We spent a lot of time planning our artwork, collecting and placing broken things so that it would match the beauty of the text.
