Our completed collage. Students in reading classes were asked to look at the cover and read the blurb of each nominated book in the Older Reader category and paste on the cover that looked the most interesting.
Some interesting observations:
- Many students voted for ‘The Quiet and the loud’ and ‘Two can play that game’ purely from the cover design.
- Many of the boys involved with shadow judging and this exercise thought that the nominated books weren’t interesting and were targeted at girls.
- Grace Notes (which won our Shadow Judging vote) was the least popular book in this exercise, with students not liking the cover or blurb.
