Here at LCC,
We have read many books, as you can see.
Comes the Night was daring and ambitious,
Futuristic, dystopian and not quite so fictitious.
The Skin I’m In was a bold exploration of identity,
But at times the story made us feel empty.
I’m Not Really Here discusses grief and love,
But was missing the authenticity to make it rise above.
Birdy led us on a poignant and complex trail,
Combining verse and confessions in a gripping tale.
Into the Mouth of the Wolf had an interesting world view,
The world we know, but split in two.
A Wreck of Seabirds made us cry,
Broke our hearts, did they really have to die?
Australian gothic literature at its finest,
Takes the cake and for us scores the highest.
