This book provided the stimulus for a meaningful discussion about people and pets we have lost. Students were particularly taken by the use of colour and symbolism in this book. After discussing ways we can continue to remember special people-even when we can’t see them anymore, students who voted for A Leaf Called Greaf were invited to make leaf-shaped charms using air dry clay. Leaves, as symbols of remembrance, were used to make imprints in the clay. Some students chose to make multiple charms to represent different people.
