Black-Out Poetry

Black-Out Poetry

Group: 6N

We chose ‘These Long Loved Things’ as our winner for Picture Book of the Year because it was a reflective story about grieving someone who is still with us physically. The illustrations use colour to show memories and sparks of recognition as well as effectively use shadows changing throughout the day to symboilse the end of a life.

We created black-out poetry to create poems that represented memories, memory loss due to Alzheimer’s Disease or even relationships to respond to the text.
