Munchy Crunchy Day Fundraiser – Creative Response to Saski Spark-Lee: Fundrasier Fail
After reading Saski Spark-Lee: Fundraiser Fail our Grade 4 shadow judging team decided we would like to do a fundraiser for one of our local animal shelters, GAWS – Geelong Animal Welfare Society. GAWS is a wonderful centre that takes in homeless animals, cares for them, gets them vet checked/treated, trained and then works to find them a new adoptive family. They take in all kinds of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. They also help to educate the community about safe and responsible pet ownership.
After some debate, we settled on making some cupcakes and muffins. We organised our group facilitator to purchase the ingredients and then got about baking and decorating. We created a basic poster for our fundraiser and explained the idea to our classes. Our classroom teachers kindly purchased a cupcake or muffin for each student in their class, allowing us to raise $50 which was donated online to GAWS. Students and teachers all reported the treats were delicious!
