Students took original photographs of birds in various locations in Melbourne and paired them with words inspired by the original book.
Inspired by the field diaries found on the author’s website, the students sought to recreate a field diary from scratch. Using materials such as felt, twine, cartridge paper, tea for dyeing and cartridge paper, the group wrote entries and provided hand drawn imagery as a response to the practices used by the author.
The following converted Power Point is a Review of the Text by Year 8 Students. They worked in pairs and used the criteria for judging and book reviews to complete a two minute review.

The Keepers Krew AKA Years 5 and 6 Book Club, were inspired by shortlisted text, ‘Flora: Australia’s Most Curious Plants’. They sourced a variety of different flowers and used the Cricut cutting machine to cut these out then rolled and/or glued them together to make bunches of pretty little flowers.
