When critiquing the CBCA picture story books against our judging criteria, Bowerbird Blues was our winning choice. We were inspired to also make a creative response to Bowerbird Blues after watching Aura Parker’s video, Satin Bowerbird. We mimicked the Satin Bowerbird by collecting items of a certain colour. We reflected on the Narrative by thinking about literary techniques, themes, subtexts, setting and perspective.
