Students discussed the themes of this book, but our lengthy discussion was dominated by the sophisticated and layered use of language and symbols. Using a range of available fibres, students who voted for Afloat used the Wiradjuri weaving practice to weave bracelets (as demonstrated in a video, ‘How to Weave with Peta-Joy Williams’ using raffia and found objects).
