Our students read the title to this book and brainstormed questions they would ask the Tooth Fairy if one was with us now. These were listed for the class. As we shared the text we ticked off our questions as they were answered. At the end we TPS new things we discovered about the Tooth Fairy. Children responded by listing at least three things they just discovered about the Tooth Fairy, then designed their own Tooth Fairy houses. We finished by creating questions we would ask the author. We also checked the board for any questions that weren’t answered in the book. Some of these were:
‘Can you write the same type of book about Santa and the Easter Bunny’?
‘Can you write a second book that answers my question, which is Why do the Tooth Fairies need to live alone??
The children all took home their own little ‘tooth box’ to put under their pillows.
