After reading A Leaf Called Greaf by Kelly Canby, our Year 1 students reflected on the story’s powerful message about feelings, friendship and finding light in dark moments. Inspired by the gentle bear character, each student created their own bear drawing and brought it to life using soft watercolour paints. These artworks show how creativity can help us understand emotions and express empathy — just like the bear in the book.
