Rather than viewing this picture book as a class, our students watched this story on StoryBox Library. From the beginning they were enthralled  by the collaboration between Freya Blackwood’s beautiful illustrations and story with the cello piece performed by Zoe Barry.

Their responses to this story were emotive and honest. They found the visual images combined with the musical accompaniment and sound effects highly engaging and their commentary reflected this.

After viewing the story, we discussed various elements of the story and production and then the students were invited to share how this book made them feel and asked to tell the story in their own words.
