Good community. Friendly. Gurri Wanyarra Aquatic Centre. The Donut Man at the lake.

What is your favourite snack food to eat at Shadow Judging meetings?
Biscuits, muffins and milo, pizza, Allen’s sours, pringles, jam donuts
What books do you like to read when you’re not Shadow Judging?
Holly – realistic books and information, horse themed books
Ryken – historic fiction and mystery genre. A Brother Band books, same author as Ranger’s Apprentice
Jacoby – fiction and realistic fiction
Charlie – Specky Magee and the Famous Five (Enid Blyton)
Amelia – old-fashioned books like Magic Faraway Tree, Alice in Wonderland, mystery, books that are ‘out there’. Realistic fiction like Wonder. Roald Dahl, Harry Potter, Tree house books
Mason – fiction and real-fiction
Lilly – non-fiction, animals, Aaron Blabey
Savannah – she’s away today.
What’s one thing you think Australian authors and illustrators need to know about Australian readers like you?
We like things set in Australia. We like finding out about Australia. We really like when the author uses Australian language such as slang. We can handle big topics. We like characters we can identify with.
