What’s one thing you think Australian authors and illustrators need to know about Australian readers like you?

YA is ‘very dark’ for senior-middle grade readers.

What can make a book really good is the build-up of emotions, where the author tries to get the reader to feel specific emotions when reading.

Also:  Author Fiona Wood is guiding us through the judging process by teasing out ideas from the judging criteria. Our first session with her was inspiring.
