Our preschoolers collaborated to vote for a book as part of the shadow judging for the Book of the Year Awards which aligns beautifully with the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework 2.0. This learning experience fosters a sense of belonging and agency, as children engage in shared decision-making, expressing their opinions and listening to others. Through this collaborative process, children develop social and communication skills, learn to respect diverse perspectives, and experience the value of contributing to a collective goal. Such experiences support their growth as confident and involved learners, nurturing their capacity for critical thinking and teamwork.
